The year 2025 was a spectacle of power, precision, and sheer athleticism in the world of MMA. While technical prowess and grappling prowess often steal the spotlight, it’s the thunderous knockouts that leave an indelible mark on fans’ memories. This year, selecting the most impactful knockout was no easy task, but a few standout moments rose above the rest.

Topping the list is Lerone Murphy’s breathtaking spinning back elbow knockout of Aaron Pico at UFC 319 in Chicago. Murphy, often overlooked in the past, catapulted himself into the title conversation with this moment of brilliance. The knockout not only showcased Murphy’s creativity and athleticism but also derailed what was anticipated to be one of the most electrifying debuts of the year. Pico, a highly touted prospect, was no match for Murphy’s explosive technique, which left the crowd in awe and the MMA world buzzing.

Another knockout that sent shockwaves through the MMA community was Ilia Topuria’s first-round stoppage of Charles Oliveira at UFC 317 in Las Vegas. Topuria’s victory not only silenced the Vegas crowd but also solidified his position as one of the best fighters in the world. His relentless fighting style and technical mastery made him a formidable opponent, and his knockout of Oliveira was a testament to his skill and determination.

While Murphy and Topuria’s knockouts were undeniably impressive, other fighters also made their mark in 2025. Mauricio Ruffy’s spinning wheel kick knockout of King Green at UFC 313 was a rare and spectacular display of technique. Despite the lower stakes compared to other knockouts, Ruffy’s move was so impressive that it left spectators in awe. The way Green melted to the floor was reminiscent of a video game, showcasing the raw power and precision of Ruffy’s strike.

As the year comes to a close, these knockouts will be remembered as some of the most devastating and memorable moments in MMA history. They serve as a reminder of the power and unpredictability of the sport, where one well-placed strike can change the course of a fight and leave a lasting impact on the MMA world.
