Lausanne: The world championship of boxing for males can be held from 26 October to six November in Belgrade, Serbia, the Worldwide Boxing Affiliation (AIBA) announced on Tuesday.

The occasion was to be held in India initially however the nation misplaced the internet hosting rights after failing to pay the host price final 12 months. An irate AIBA then awarded the competitors to Serbia.

“The event can be held from 26 October to six November 2021,” the AIBA introduced.

The organisation of the occasion can be overseen by the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, who heads the Native Organising Committee (LOC).

“The AIBA males’s World Boxing Championships will present our dedication to supply a platform for boxers all around the globe to realize their full potential,” AIBA President Umar Kremlev mentioned.

“We’ve full confidence that the event can be carried out safely, given our profitable implementation of COVID-19 counter measures all through this 12 months,” he added.

The earlier version of the championship was hosted by Ekaterinburg, Russia in 2019.
