Why the UFC nixing Georges St-Pierre’s boxing dream is an unsettling reminder of MMA contract terms – The Athletic

The key’s out. These madcap brokers of chaos over at Triller? It appears that they had a plan. In one more zany bid for a few of that pure spectacle pay-per-view cash, they wished to place former two-division UFC champ Georges St-Pierre into the ring with boxing nice Oscar De La Hoya.

And what’s actually wonderful? St-Pierre was going to do it. He stated it could have been “a dream come true” to struggle his second-favorite boxer (the highest spot belongs to Sugar Ray Leonard), and added that if the bout had gone ahead “plenty of the cash made would have been given to charity.”

However now, based on all sides, it gained’t occur. And it’s reportedly all as a result of UFC president Dana White wouldn’t conform to it.
