Mikaela Mayer and Alycia Baumgardner have weighed in forward of Saturday’s eagerly anticipated unified junior light-weight conflict on the O2 Area in London and the dangerous blood continues.
Mayer, who holds Ring, IBF and WBO titles, got here in at 129.5 kilos and seemed to be in wonderful bodily situation. The California-born champ was all smiles till she went face to face along with her opponent, and after a fast verbal change, Mayer lashed out with a kick.
“[Baumgardner] was making an attempt to push me again and I didn’t have any arms as a result of [I was holding] three belts, so I had to make use of my leg,” stated Mayer (17-0, 5 KOs) in an interview with Sky Sports activities.
“She has to knock me out to win. She’s no more conditioned than me, she’s doesn’t have the next work charge than me, she’s no more correct than me. I’m going to outbox her.”
Baumgardner, who’s rated No. 2 by The Ring at junior light-weight, was beaming on the scales and likewise weighed in at 129.5. The Detroit native appeared unfazed by the scuffle and plans so as to add three extra belts to the WBC model she at present holds.
“I belong right here,” stated Baumgardner (12-1, 7 KOs). “I’m made for this second and I’m able to unify the division. She’s in there with a canine, she feels threatened, and I’m right here to take over and dethrone her.
