In a thrilling night of boxing in Dublin, Ireland, on March 15th, 2026, Anthony Cacace etched his name into the annals of boxing history once again. The 37-year-old veteran outclassed James ‘Jazza’ Dickens in a hard-fought battle to claim the WBA super featherweight title, becoming a two-time world champion in the process.

The fight, which went the full 12-round distance, saw Cacace emerge victorious with a unanimous decision. The judges’ scorecards read 115-113, 116-112, and 116-113 in favor of the Belfast native. This victory marked Cacace’s 10th consecutive win and brought an end to Dickens’ impressive four-fight winning streak.

Despite describing his performance as a ‘poor night at the office,’ Cacace revealed that he had been battling an injury leading up to the fight. A damaged left hand had sidelined him from sparring for six weeks prior to the bout, making his victory all the more remarkable.

The early rounds saw Dickens, a southpaw, find success on the inside with his unorthodox style. However, Cacace adjusted brilliantly in the fifth round, rocking Dickens with a powerful left hook. From that point onwards, Cacace maintained the pressure, dictating the pace of the fight.

A clash of heads in the ninth round left Cacace with a cut above his right eye, but he remained composed and focused, securing the points victory. With this win, Cacace has now defeated four consecutive reigning or former world champions, further cementing his legacy in the sport.

Cacace previously held the IBF version of the title in 2024 before vacating it. He has since expressed a strong desire for a unification bout, specifically calling out Emanuel Navarrete. Other potential opponents mentioned include O’Shaquie Foster or a domestic clash with undercard winner Ryan Garner.

The night’s action wasn’t limited to the main event. The undercard delivered a series of exciting bouts, with Pierce O’Leary defeating Maxi Hughes by RTD in the fifth round, Jono Carroll edging out Colm Murphy in a split decision, and Ryan Garner securing a TKO victory over Cristian Bielma in the third round. Eoghan Lavin also impressed, claiming the Irish Middleweight Title with an eighth-round TKO win over Liam Walsh.

Other undercard results included victories for Steven Cairns, Thomas Carty, Gary Cully, Adam Olaniyan, Bobbi Flood, and Barry McReynolds, all of whom put on impressive performances for the Dublin crowd.

As the dust settles on this memorable night of boxing, one thing is clear: Anthony Cacace’s star continues to rise. His victory over Jazza Dickens is a testament to his skill, determination, and heart. With a potential unification bout on the horizon, the future looks bright for this two-time world champion.
