On the crisp evening of March 21, the Copper Box Arena in London set the stage for a thrilling night of boxing, headlined by George Liddard’s defense of his British and Commonwealth middleweight titles against the formidable Tyler Denny. The event, promoted by Matchroom Boxing, promised an evening of high-octane action, and it certainly delivered.

George Liddard, riding high on the waves of a career-best performance, entered the ring with the confidence of a champion. His last outing saw him stop Kieron Conway in the tenth round, securing his British and Commonwealth middleweight belts. Liddard’s precision and power were on full display that night, and fans eagerly anticipated another stellar performance.

Tyler Denny, on the other hand, brought a resilient spirit and a determination to reclaim his place in the middleweight division. With recent victories over Elvis Ahorgah and Grant Dennis, Denny was poised to challenge Liddard’s reign. Despite a second-round TKO loss to Hamzah Sheeraz, Denny’s comeback trail had been impressive, setting the stage for a captivating clash.

The evening kicked off with a bang as Leli Buttigieg faced Jake Goodwin in a bout that set the tone for the night. Buttigieg, with an unblemished record of 12-0, showcased his skills and secured a victory that kept his winning streak intact.

Next up was Giorgio Visioli, defending his English lightweight title against Levi Giles. Visioli’s technical prowess was evident from the start, as he picked his punches with precision and displayed slick footwork. Giles, known for his relentless pressure, found it challenging to break through Visioli’s defense. The fifth round saw Visioli land a powerful right hand, knocking Giles down and asserting his dominance. Visioli’s hand speed and variation ensured he controlled every aspect of the fight, ultimately retaining his English lightweight title by unanimous decision with scores of 100-89, 99-90, and 99-90.

The middleweight division took center stage again with Jimmy Sains defending his English middleweight and Commonwealth silver titles against Derrick Osaze. Sains, nicknamed “DelBoy,” utilized his jab impressively and mixed his punches with finesse. Osaze, though busy and rhythmic, found himself rocked by a big right hand from Sains in the third round. The back-and-forth action continued, with Sains landing the more telling punches. The judges’ scorecards read 95-95, 97-93, and 96-94, ensuring Sains retained his titles.

As the night progressed, the anticipation for the main event grew. The first fight of the evening began at approximately 19:10 GMT/15:10 ET, setting the stage for a night of unforgettable boxing action. The Copper Box Arena was electric, and the fighters delivered performances that will be remembered for years to come.
