In a highly anticipated heavyweight clash, Lawrence Okolie is set to return to the ring this Saturday to face Tony Yoka in the vibrant city of Paris. The Adidas Arena will play host to this pivotal bout, with both fighters eager to make their mark in the heavyweight division.

Okolie, boasting an impressive record of 23-1 with 17 knockouts, is currently the number one contender with the WBC, trailing only world champion Oleksandr Usyk. Usyk is slated to defend his title against Rico Verhoeven on May 23 in Egypt. Since transitioning to the heavyweight division, Okolie has secured four consecutive victories, most recently retiring Ebenezer Tetteh in the second round in December in Nigeria. The 33-year-old Londoner has been vocal about his ambition to face WBC interim titlist Agit Kabayel, but first, he must overcome the challenge posed by Olympic gold medalist Yoka.

Yoka, with a record of 15-3 and 12 knockouts, has also been on a winning streak, securing four victories after a series of three defeats, notably against Martin Bakole. The 33-year-old Frenchman knocked out Patrick Korte on the same card as Okolie in December, setting the stage for this exciting matchup.

    Event Details

The fight is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, at the Adidas Arena in Paris. The broadcast will commence at 7pm BST/2pm ET/11am PT/8pm local time, with the main event expected to begin at approximately 10pm BST/5pm ET/2pm PT/11pm local time. Boxing enthusiasts worldwide can catch the action live on DAZN.

    Recent Performances

Okolie’s recent victories include a second-round retirement win against Ebenezer Tetteh, a unanimous decision against Kevin Lerena, and a first-round TKO against Hussein Muhamed. Yoka, on the other hand, has secured a first-round KO against Patrick Korte, a unanimous decision against Arslan Yallyev, and a second-round TKO against Lamah Griggs.

    Undercard Highlights

The undercard features several promising matchups, including:

    • Bakary Samake (19-0, 11 KOs) vs Ermal Hadribeaj (22-0-1, 8 KOs) – super welterweight (10 rounds)
    • Khalil El Hadri (21-3, 11 KOs) vs Liborio Solis (37-9-1, 18 KOs) – super bantamweight (10 rounds)
    • Mourad Aliev (14-1, 11 KOs) vs Jhan Carlo Delgado (9-4-1, 3 KOs) – heavyweight (8 rounds)
    • Enzo Marguerite (9-0, 3 KOs) vs Jeremy Alvarez (12-2, 12 KOs) – super welterweight (8 rounds)
    • Luis Vela (6-0, 5 KOs) vs Yeison Juarez (22-12, 16 KOs) – super lightweight (6 rounds)
    • Adam Olaniyan (1-0, 1 KO) vs Andre Youmbi Oyen (2-2, 1 KO) – heavyweight (4 rounds)

This event promises to be a thrilling night of boxing, with both Okolie and Yoka aiming to solidify their positions in the heavyweight division. Fans can expect a night of high-stakes action and unforgettable moments in the ring.
