In a candid moment, heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has revealed that his most challenging opponent to date was none other than Johann Duhaupas. The revelation came during a recent interview, where Wilder recounted the toughest hits he’s endured throughout his illustrious career.

The bout between Wilder and Duhaupas took place on October 17, 2015, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Despite being a lesser-known opponent at the time, Duhaupas proved to be a formidable challenger, landing a significant blow that resonated with Wilder.

“Johann Duhaupas hit me the hardest,” Wilder stated. “He caught me with a shot that I still remember to this day. It’s a testament to his power and the kind of challenge he posed in that fight.”

Wilder ultimately secured a victory in the seventh round via technical knockout, but the impact of Duhaupas’ punch has left a lasting impression. The champion’s admission highlights the unpredictability and excitement that the sport of boxing continually offers, where even lesser-known fighters can deliver memorable moments.
