The AFL is reportedly set to analyze the boxing incident that left Hawthorn ahead Mitchell Lewis concussed and unable to play on Friday night time towards Sydney.
The Herald Solar’s Marc McGowan is reporting that Hawks coach Alastair Clarkson stopped a boxing session on Monday to demand his gamers “go tougher at one another”.
It’s believed that the gamers have been boxing in pairs and weren’t sporting head gear, with McGowan writing that there’s supposedly footage of younger Hawk Jacob Koschitzke delivering a blow to the pinnacle that knocked Lewis out.
The information comes after Hawks assistant Craig McRae told AFL Nation on Friday that the session concerned simply “physique punches” with the blow coming as Lewis ducked into an oncoming fist.
Hawthorn have reportedly now instructed Information Corp that the AFL would look into the circumstances resulting in Lewis’ harm, however remained steadfast that the incident was merely an accident.
Lewis entered the AFL’s 12-day concussion protocol on Monday and might be out there to play towards Essendon subsequent Sunday if he passes the required hurdles.
