In a highly anticipated showdown, Caoimhin Agyarko is poised to battle Brandon Adams for the coveted position of mandatory challenger for the IBF world light middleweight title. The bout, scheduled for April 18 in the United States, marks a significant step in Agyarko’s career as he aims to secure a shot at the world title.

The IBF, based in America, mandated this final eliminator late last year, setting a deadline for the fighters to agree on terms. After a brief extension, both camps have successfully reached an agreement, paving the way for this thrilling encounter. While the exact venue is yet to be confirmed, speculation points to Los Angeles as the host city for this high-stakes clash.

A victory for Agyarko would propel him to the forefront of the IBF light middleweight division, positioning him as the mandatory challenger for the winner of the upcoming bout between champion Bakhram Murtazaliev and Josh Kelly, scheduled for January 31 in Newcastle, England.

Reflecting on the unexpected turn of events, Agyarko shared his surprise at the IBF’s decision. “I had no idea this was coming,” he admitted. “Our strategy was always to pursue the WBA route, given my long-standing ranking with them. It came as a surprise when my manager informed me about the IBF final eliminator.”

In a recent interview, the fighter known as ‘Black Thunder’ discussed his approach to the upcoming battle. “I haven’t studied Adams yet. I couldn’t tell you his fighting style,” Agyarko confessed. “Once the fight is officially confirmed, I’ll delve into his techniques. There’s no point in analyzing a fighter before the fight is set in stone.”

Despite his lack of familiarity with Adams’ style, Agyarko exudes confidence. “Even though I haven’t watched him, I know the fight will unfold like my last 18 bouts. I’ll find a way to win by any means necessary,” he asserted, underscoring his determination and adaptability in the ring.

As the boxing world eagerly awaits this final eliminator, all eyes will be on Agyarko and Adams as they vie for the chance to challenge for the IBF world light middleweight title. With both fighters bringing their unique strengths and strategies to the ring, this promises to be a captivating contest for boxing enthusiasts worldwide.
