JB Promotions has inaugurated their 2026 boxing calendar with a spectacular event titled ‘New Beginnings’ at the novel venue of The Pavilion Building, Leopardstown Racecourse. This inaugural event at the location promises a thrilling night of boxing, with a lineup of fighters eager to make their mark early in the year. The theme of the evening revolves around fresh starts and momentum, featuring several boxers returning from hiatuses, setbacks, and rebuilding phases.

Headlining the event is Senan Kelly, who faces the formidable Emiliano Araujo. Kelly, hailing from Kildare, is determined to regain his rhythm after his first professional defeat against Ben Marksby in September last year. The co-main event showcases Offaly’s Paul Loonam, who aims to maintain his unbeaten record and propel himself into title discussions later in the year.

The undercard is equally compelling, with Bayo Alabi set to make a statement in a six-round bout against the seasoned Jose Perez. Cain Lewis, recently signed with JB Promotions, makes his debut appearance under the new banner. Oisin Treacy returns to the ring after a 10-month absence, facing the upset specialist Jordan Grannum. Sarah Murphy, fresh from her October debut, looks to build on her initial success and move to 2-0.

One of the most anticipated returns is that of Cian Doyle, who steps back into the ring after a nearly four-year layoff, having last fought in June 2022. The event promises to be a night of high stakes and intense action, with each fighter bringing their unique story and determination to the ring.

In the main event, Senan Kelly dominated from the outset, sending Araujo scrambling with a perfectly timed overhand right in the first round. Kelly’s precision and power were evident as he consistently landed counter straight rights and heavy combinations throughout the initial rounds. By the end of the second round, Kelly was firmly in control, thanks to his sharp counters and relentless pressure.

The third round saw a slight shift as a cut above Kelly’s right eye gave Araujo a target for his left hooks. However, Kelly quickly recovered and refocused his attacks on Araujo’s midsection. The fourth and fifth rounds were a testament to Kelly’s prowess, as he unleashed a barrage of uppercuts and hooks to both the body and head, visibly taking a toll on Araujo. Kelly’s earlier body shots began to pay dividends in the later stages, showcasing his strategic brilliance and physical dominance.

The ‘New Beginnings’ event is not just a boxing match; it’s a narrative of resilience, comeback, and the relentless pursuit of greatness. Each fighter brings a story of determination and grit, making this event a must-watch for boxing enthusiasts.
