Houston, Texas (February 19th, 2026) — The octagon is set to ignite with a thrilling middleweight showdown as the #3-ranked former champion, Sean Strickland, steps into the cage against the #4-ranked and rapidly rising Anthony ‘Fluffy’ Hernandez. This bout promises to be a strategic chess match, with both fighters bringing unique strengths and game plans to the table.

Sean Strickland, aged 34 and boasting a record of 29-7, is known for his relentless, ‘zombie-like’ forward pressure. His fighting style is characterized by a high guard and a piston-like jab that suffocates opponents without overcommitting. Strickland’s defense is deceptively elite; he expertly parries strikes and checks leg kicks, often forcing his adversaries into a grueling cardio war. To secure a victory, Strickland must stuff Hernandez’s takedown attempts early and transform the fight into a striking match, where his volume can dominate in the later rounds.

On the other side of the cage stands Anthony Hernandez, aged 32 with a record of 15-2 and 1 no contest. Hernandez is a cardio anomaly, known for his relentless chain of takedown attempts. Unlike traditional wrestlers who might stall, Hernandez constantly hunts for submissions and transitions, a style described as ‘extreme violence’ by pundits. The betting line favors Hernandez, largely due to Strickland’s past struggles with the grappling pressure of Dricus Du Plessis, a style that Hernandez mimics but with an added layer of submission threats.

The main card, scheduled to start at 8 PM ET, features a lineup of exciting bouts. The welterweight co-main event promises fireworks between heavy hitters Geoff Neal and Uros Medic. Additionally, a featherweight clash between the durable veteran Dan Ige and Melquizael Costa is set to captivate fans. Other notable fights include a heavyweight bout between Serghei Spivac and Ante Delija, and a middleweight showdown between Zach Reese and Michel Pereira.

The preliminary card, beginning at 5:00 PM ET, will set the stage with a series of compelling matchups. Welterweight bouts between Chidi Njokuani and Carlos Leal, as well as Ramiz Brahimaj and Punahele Soriano, are sure to deliver excitement. The undercard also features a women’s bantamweight bout between Nora Cornolle and Joselyne Edwards, and a flyweight clash between Alibi Idiris and Ode Osbourne.

This event is not just a fight night; it’s a showcase of strategic prowess, endurance, and the sheer will to dominate inside the octagon. As the fighters step into the cage, fans can expect a night of unforgettable action and high-stakes drama.
