In a thrilling night of boxing, the Meta Apex in Las Vegas played host to a high-stakes cruiserweight clash between Jai Opetaia and Brandon Glanton. The event, headlining a Zuffa Boxing card, promised fireworks and delivered a night to remember for fight fans around the globe.

Jai Opetaia, the undefeated Australian southpaw with a record of 29-0 and 23 KOs, stepped into the ring against the formidable American, Brandon Glanton, who boasts 21 wins and 18 KOs. The stakes were high, with Opetaia’s IBF and The Ring Cruiserweight titles on the line, despite the IBF’s threat to strip him of his title if he proceeded with the fight.

The undercard set the stage for the main event with a featherweight bout between Emiliano Alvarado and Erick Rosado. Alvarado, maintaining his unbeaten record of 11-0 with 6 KOs, secured a unanimous decision victory with scores of 59-54 across the board. Rosado, now 16-5 with 11 KOs, was knocked down in the second round by a left hook to the head, setting the tone for an evening of intense action.

Opetaia, standing at 6’2″ with a 76-inch reach, brought his impressive resume into the ring. His opponent, Glanton, slightly shorter at 6’0″ but with a longer 79-inch reach, brought his own brand of knockout power, having stopped 18 of his 24 opponents. The contrast in styles and the high stakes made for a captivating matchup.

The broadcast was made accessible to a wide audience, with viewers in the United States tuning in via Paramount+ and international fans catching the action on the Zuffa Boxing YouTube channel. The global reach of the event underscored the significance of the bout and the growing influence of Zuffa Boxing in the sport.

Despite the IBF’s threats, Opetaia’s focus remained unwavering. In a recent statement, he assured fans that his deal with Zuffa would not hinder a potential future fight with David Benavidez, keeping his options open and his sights set on further glory. Both fighters made weight, signaling their readiness for the cruiserweight showdown.

The night was a testament to the enduring appeal of boxing and the excitement that comes with high-stakes matchups. As the dust settles on this memorable evening, the boxing world eagerly anticipates the next chapter in the careers of these formidable athletes.
