As the anticipation builds for the upcoming clash at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on March 28, the boxing world is abuzz with predictions and analyses. The main event, featuring Sebastian Fundora defending his WBC super welterweight world title against Keith Thurman, has garnered significant attention. This Premier Boxing Champions Pay-Per-View event, promoted by TGB Promotions and Sampson Boxing, promises to be a thrilling night of action.

Abel Sanchez, the esteemed former trainer of Gennady Golovkin, recently shared his insights on the highly anticipated bout. Sanchez’s analysis sheds light on what fans can expect from this intriguing matchup.

According to Sanchez, Thurman’s recent inactivity could be a decisive factor in the fight. “Keith has had several years off a couple of times, three times,” Sanchez noted. “I think that’s going to hold him back in this fight. He’s getting a little older. He’s 35, 36, somewhere there.” This prolonged time away from the ring might hinder Thurman’s performance against the younger, more active Fundora.

On the other hand, Sanchez believes that Fundora is improving with each fight. “Fundora seems to be getting better, not much better, but getting better as a champion,” he said. “I see a tough fight for Fundora, but I see Fundora winning it.” Sanchez’s comments highlight the contrast between the two fighters, with Fundora’s recent activity and gradual improvement potentially giving him the edge.

Sanchez also weighed in on the possibility of a knockout. “I don’t see Sebastian having a dramatic knockout over Keith Thurman,” he stated. “I think Keith Thurman is going to go 12 rounds, and if it gets stopped, it’d just be in the corner.” This suggests that the fight could go the distance, with the outcome potentially hinging on the decisions made by Thurman’s corner.

The undercard for the event is equally impressive, featuring a lineup of talented fighters. The full fight card includes:

    • Yoenis Tellez vs Brian Mendoza, 10 rounds, super welterweights
    • Yoenli Hernandez vs Terrell Gausha, 10 rounds, middleweights
    • Gurgen Hovhannisyan vs Cesar Navarro, 10 rounds, heavyweights
    • Elijah Garcia vs Kevin Newman II, 10 rounds, super middleweights
    • Kaipo Gallegos vs Julian Gonzalez, 10 rounds, lightweights
    • Brayan Gonzalez vs Brandon Guerrero, 6 rounds, featherweights
    • Cristian Cangelosi vs Miguel Angel Hernandez, 10 rounds, super welterweights
    • Robert Guerrero Jr vs Rigoberto Rivera, 4 rounds, super lightweights
    • Aldo Blancas vs Jamal Johnson, 4 rounds, super lightweights

As fight night approaches, fans can look forward to a night of high-stakes action and unforgettable moments. The expert analysis from Abel Sanchez adds an extra layer of intrigue to the main event, setting the stage for a captivating showdown between Sebastian Fundora and Keith Thurman.
