In a thrilling display of skill and determination, Caroline Dubois emerged victorious against Terri Harper to unify the WBC and WBO lightweight world titles at London’s iconic Olympia. The bout, which took place on Sunday, saw Dubois (13-0-1, 5 KOs) assert her dominance with a unanimous decision win, further solidifying her status as a rising star in the boxing world.

The early rounds were a tactical affair, with both fighters cautiously sizing each other up. Harper (16-3-2, 6 KOs), known for her elusive style, managed to evade Dubois’ initial attacks and even found some success on the back foot. However, the tide turned in the sixth round when Dubois landed a devastating left hand, sending Harper to the canvas. The Denaby native bravely beat the count, but the damage had been done.

As the fight progressed, Dubois continued to apply pressure, her precision and power proving too much for Harper. By the ninth round, blood streamed down Harper’s face following a head clash, but she refused to back down, sensing the urgency of her situation. The final round was a frantic exchange, with both fighters leaving everything in the ring. Despite Harper’s valiant efforts, the knockout she desperately needed never materialized.

The judges’ scorecards reflected Dubois’ dominance, with scores of 98-91, 97-92, and 98-91. With this victory, Dubois not only unified the lightweight titles but also set her sights on a potential showdown with American star Alycia Baumgardner, a bout that could catapult her to even greater heights.

In other action-packed bouts of the evening, Ellie Scotney became the youngest undisputed champion in the four-belt era, male or female, with a dominant points win over Mayelli Flores. Scotney’s superior skillset and counter-punching proved too much for the Mexican challenger, securing her place in boxing history.

Chantelle Cameron also made a triumphant return to the ring, winning the vacant WBO super welterweight title with a comfortable points victory over Michaela Kotaskova. Cameron’s dominance was evident throughout the fight, setting the stage for a potential undisputed title showdown with Mikaela Mayer.

The undercard featured several notable performances, including Emma Dolan’s valiant effort against IBF super flyweight titlist Irma Garcia, and Shannon Courtenay’s impressive third-round stoppage of Sasha Booker. Nigeria’s Elizabeth Oshoba also continued her unbeaten streak with a third-round victory.

As the dust settles on this unforgettable night of boxing, the spotlight shines brightly on Caroline Dubois, whose unified titles and potential future bouts promise to keep fans on the edge of their seats.
