In a night filled with high stakes and higher drama, Jarrell ‘Big Baby’ Miller secured a crucial victory in a WBA world title eliminator against Lenier ‘El Justiciero’ Pero at the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas. This bout was a pivotal moment for Miller, marking his return to the ring since his September victory over Ivan Dychko. The 37-year-old heavyweight veteran showcased his resilience and skill, ultimately earning a points decision after 12 grueling rounds.

The judges’ scorecards read 117-111 twice and 115-113, all in favor of Miller. The fight was not without its challenges, as Pero found success in the early rounds. However, Miller’s persistence paid off as he began landing significant blows from the fourth round onwards, visibly troubling his previously unbeaten opponent. The latter part of the fight saw intense exchanges, with both fighters engaging in close-quarters slugfests that kept the audience on the edge of their seats.

With this victory, Miller has positioned himself as a formidable contender in the heavyweight division. His new promoter, Eddie Hearn, wasted no time in calling out Deontay Wilder for a potential showdown in New York, adding an exciting layer of anticipation for what lies ahead in Miller’s career.

In the co-main event, 25-year-old Alan ‘Veneno’ Chaves continued his impressive knockout streak, securing his fifth consecutive victory with a devastating third-round knockout of Miguel Madueno. Chaves, who is rapidly building towards a lightweight world title shot, demonstrated his power and precision, leaving no doubt about his potential as a future champion. The Argentinian prospect now boasts an unbeaten record of 22 fights, with an impressive 87% knockout ratio.

The undercard also delivered its share of excitement and upsets. Freudis Rojas suffered his first professional loss at the hands of Damian Sosa, who scored a well-deserved 10-round decision. Sosa’s victory was highlighted by a sixth-round knockdown, marking a significant upset and his second win since a 2024 decision loss to unified world champion Xandar Zayas.

Indian prospect Nishant Dev continued his perfect professional record, stopping Juan Carlos Guerra Jr in the second round with a powerful display. Additionally, Angel ‘AK-47’ Barrientes secured a unanimous decision victory over Luis Espinoza at super bantamweight, further solidifying his reputation as a rising star in the division.

The night in Las Vegas was a testament to the unpredictable and thrilling nature of boxing. With Miller’s triumphant return, Chaves’ knockout prowess, and the upsets on the undercard, the stage is set for even more exciting matchups in the future.
