    A New Era of Champions: The 2026 National Boy/Girl 2 Boxing Championships

    The 2026 National Boy/Girl 2 Championships have concluded, and a new generation of boxing champions has been crowned. Over 50 young athletes stepped into the ring, showcasing their skills, determination, and heart, leaving everything behind to etch their names in the annals of boxing history.

    In the 27kg category, Jessica Moore from Dukes emerged victorious, while Leanne Quinn from Camlough took the title in the 29kg category. Leroy McGinley from Armagh secured a hard-fought 4-1 victory over Hughie Myers from Elite in the same weight class.

    The 31kg category saw Caoilinn Boland from Ratoath and Scott Watson from Banbridge both winning their respective matches with unanimous 5-0 decisions. Britney Nevin from Olympic L was crowned champion in the 33kg category, and Marcus Webb from Monkstown D secured a 5-0 victory over Michael Nevin from Elite.

    Halle Bardon from Golden Cobra and Patrick L Donovan from Olympic C claimed their titles in the 35kg category with impressive performances. Aine Marrinan from Nutgrove and Frankie Donoghue from Kilmyshall both won their 37kg matches with scores of 5-0 and 3-2, respectively.

    The 38.5kg category saw Bernard M Mongan from Olympic C dominate with a 5-0 victory, while Hailey Hawe from Marble City took the 39kg title with a similar score. Tom McCarthy from Rathkeale and Aoibheann Cahill from Setanta were crowned champions in the 40kg and 41kg categories, respectively.

    Edward Sweeney from Olympic C continued the trend of 5-0 victories in the 41.5kg category. Aoife Gillespie from Twintown and Jack Maughan from Olympic L both secured their titles with unanimous decisions in the 43kg category.

    Martin Ward from Olympic L and Victoria Nic an Bhaird from Swords were crowned champions in the 44.5kg and 45kg categories, respectively. Luke Saunders from St John Bosco A secured a quick victory with an RSC1 in the 46kg category.

    Neveah McEvoy from Donore and Anthony Donoghue from Olympic L claimed their titles in the 47kg and 48kg categories. Lauren Doyle Preston from Paulstown and Christy Nevin from Mullingar Shufflers were crowned champions in the 49kg and 50kg categories, respectively.

    Emmie Jacob from Paulstown and Charlie Townsend from Cookstown secured their titles in the 51kg and 52kg categories. Layla Ayres from St Brigids E and Martin Barrett from Titans were crowned champions in the 53kg and 54kg categories, respectively.

    Freya Marsh from Tramore and Daniel Suriak from Ratoath claimed their titles in the 55kg and 56kg categories. Katelynn O’Donnell from Dungloe and Harley Tyrell from Ballymun were crowned champions in the 57kg and 59kg categories, respectively.

    Liam Murphy from Birr and Nadia Maj from Sacre Coeur secured their titles in the 62kg and 63kg categories. Jeramiah Veranda from Olympic C and Texas Trinity Lovell from Lisburn were crowned champions in the 65kg and 66kg categories, respectively.

    Katelyn O’Flynn from Corpus Christi M and Hugh Malloy from St Annes claimed their titles in the 68kg category. Sophie Potter from Gateway and Tommy Lee McCarthy from Mayfield were crowned champions in the 70kg and 72kg categories, respectively.

    Ryan Murphy from Mayfield and John McDonagh from Olympic C secured their titles in the 74kg and 76kg categories. Annalise Heaphy from Golden Gloves M was crowned champion in the 75+kg category.

    Alice Joyce from Athlone, Patrick Barrett from Olympic C, Simon McGinley from Dealgan, Leon Leddy from Olympic L, and Lachlann Gilfoyle from Brosna were all crowned champions in their respective categories, completing the list of this year’s exceptional athletes.
