In a thrilling display of skill and determination, Amanda Serrano successfully defended her WBA and WBO featherweight titles in front of a roaring hometown crowd at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in Puerto Rico. The champion faced a tough challenge from late-notice replacement Reina Tellez, ultimately securing a unanimous decision victory with scores of 98-92 and 97-93 (twice).

Serrano, who had previously fought at super lightweight, returned to her featherweight division to face the undefeated Tellez. Despite Tellez’s lack of experience in 10-round bouts, she proved to be a formidable opponent, countering effectively in the early rounds and even causing some damage to Serrano’s right eye.

The Puerto Rican sensation started strong, utilizing her jab and body shots to control the pace of the fight. However, Tellez showed resilience and determination, landing wild bursts of shots to keep Serrano at bay. As the fight progressed, Serrano’s superior timing and accuracy began to frustrate Tellez, who was still willing to exchange blows until the final bell.

In the co-main event, Stephanie Han retained her WBA lightweight title with a technical decision victory over veteran Holly Holm. The fight was halted in the seventh round due to a cut caused by an accidental headbutt, and the judges’ scorecards read 69-64, 69-65, and 68-65 in favor of Han.

The undercard featured several exciting bouts, including an upset victory by Jonathan Gonzalez over Yankiel Rivera for the interim WBA flyweight title. Gonzalez won by unanimous decision with scores of 117-110, 116-111, and 114-113. Other notable winners included Henry Lebron, who remained unbeaten with a seventh-round stoppage of Juan Tapia, and Jan Paul Rivera-Pizarro, who secured a majority decision victory over Alfredo Cruz.

In a surprising turn of events, former world champion Ebanie Bridges suffered a wide decision loss to Alexia Araiza Mones in an eight-round bantamweight contest. The Texan Araiza Mones won with scores of 78-74 and 80-72 (twice).

The evening’s action showcased the depth of talent in the boxing world and provided fans with a night of exciting fights and memorable performances. Amanda Serrano’s successful title defense was the highlight of the event, solidifying her status as one of the top featherweight boxers in the world.
