British heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has made his way back to the United Kingdom under somber circumstances, following a tragic incident in Lagos, Nigeria. The two-time heavyweight champion was involved in a car accident on Monday, which resulted in the untimely deaths of two of his closest friends, Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami.

The trio were traveling together in Lagos when the unfortunate accident occurred. Joshua, who sustained injuries in the crash, took to social media to express his grief and pay tribute to his late friends, referring to them as his ‘brothers’.

The boxing community has rallied around Joshua during this difficult time, offering condolences and support as he prepares to lay his friends to rest. The funeral services for Ayodele and Ghami are expected to take place in the coming days, with Joshua in attendance to bid his final farewells.

This tragedy has cast a shadow over the boxing world, with many fans and fellow athletes sending their thoughts and prayers to Joshua and the families of the deceased. The champion’s return to the UK marks a poignant moment, as he comes to terms with the loss of his close companions.
