Las Vegas, NV (April 27th, 2026) — The Meta Apex in Las Vegas bore witness to an electrifying night of mixed martial arts action as UFC Vegas 116 unfolded. The event, headlined by a featherweight showdown between Aljamain Sterling and Youssef Zalal, delivered a series of thrilling bouts that left fans on the edge of their seats.

In the main event, Aljamain Sterling showcased his prowess in the octagon, securing a dominant unanimous decision victory over Youssef Zalal. The judges’ scorecards read 49-45 across the board, underscoring Sterling’s control throughout the fight. This victory solidifies Sterling’s position as a formidable contender in the featherweight division.

The night was not just about the main event, however. Several fighters delivered standout performances that earned them substantial bonuses. Davey Grant and Adrian Luna Martinetti were awarded the Fight of the Night bonus for their intense battle, each taking home an additional $100,000. Ryan Spann and Jackson McVey also received Performance of the Night bonuses, each earning $100,000 for their impressive finishes. Spann’s second-round knockout of Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida and McVey’s first-round submission victory over Sedriques Dumas were the only finishes on the card, making them the clear choices for the performance-based awards.

The main card featured a series of closely contested bouts. Joselyn Edwards edged out Norma Dumont in a women’s bantamweight matchup, while Rafa García secured a unanimous decision victory over Alexander Hernandez in the lightweight division. The bantamweight category saw Davey Grant triumph over Adrian Luna Martinetti, and Raoni Barcelos narrowly defeated Montel Jackson in a split decision. The heavyweight bout between Ryan Spann and Marcus Buchecha ended dramatically with Spann’s knockout in the second round.

The preliminary card also delivered its share of excitement. Eric McConico defeated Rodolfo Vieira by unanimous decision in a middleweight clash. Jackson McVey’s submission victory over Sedriques Dumas in the first round was a highlight of the prelims. Other notable victories included Michelle Montague’s unanimous decision win over Mayra Bueno Silva in the women’s bantamweight division, Cody Durden’s triumph over Jafel Filho, and Francis Marshall’s decisive victory over Lucas Brennan in the lightweight category. Victor Valenzuela and Talita Alencar also secured unanimous decision wins in their respective welterweight and women’s strawweight bouts.

UFC Vegas 116 was a night of high-octane action, showcasing the depth of talent in the UFC. From Sterling’s dominant performance to the thrilling finishes by Spann and McVey, the event provided fans with a memorable evening of mixed martial arts.
