In an unprecedented turn of events, the boxing world is abuzz with the news that Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have inked a deal to face each other in what promises to be a monumental heavyweight bout. Scheduled for November, this all-British showdown hinges on one crucial condition: a performance by the three-time Grammy Award winner, Dua Lipa. The iconic Wembley Stadium, with its 90,000-seat capacity, is the dream venue for this historic clash, but the Saudi Arabian boxing chief, Turki Alalshikh, has made it clear that the fight will only land at the national stadium if the pop sensation takes the stage.

Turki Alalshikh took to social media to announce the signed agreement, sending waves of excitement through the boxing community. “To my friends in Great Britain—it’s happening. It’s signed,” he declared. This sentiment was echoed by Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, who confirmed the bout with a triumphant post: “Signed, sealed, delivered! AJ v Fury is on!”

Before the epic Fury-Joshua clash, Anthony Joshua must first overcome Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Riyadh. This bout marks Joshua’s return to the ring after a hiatus following a tragic car accident in Nigeria last December, which claimed the lives of two of his close friends. Despite the setback, Joshua has shown resilience and determination, returning to training camp in Spain alongside former rival Oleksandr Usyk.

“It’s no secret I’ve taken some time to consolidate and rebuild to be ready for stepping back into the ring, and today is the next step on that journey,” Joshua stated. “I’m delighted to have agreed a multi-fight deal starting with July 25th in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I’m looking forward to competing and picking up where I left off. As I said, the landlord will collect his rent. That is certain.”

Tyson Fury, on the other hand, has been vocal about his intentions. After securing a unanimous decision victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov earlier this month, Fury engaged in a heated exchange with Joshua, who was ringside. “If it ain’t Anthony Joshua next, I’m not interested in boxing,” Fury declared. “I’ll eat a thousand Easter eggs, go up to 35 stone, I’m out. I’m not interested. It’s either him or I’m gone again.”

Fury’s manager, Spencer Brown, hinted at the possibility of another tune-up bout, but Fury remains steadfast in his desire to face Joshua. “I’m not interested in up-and-comers. I’m not interested in someone trying to prove a point over me. I don’t care. I don’t care about rankings, I don’t care about belts. I only care now about AJ. That fight, that’s the defining fight for British boxing. It’s either going to happen or it’s not.”

The stage is set for an epic showdown, but the boxing world waits with bated breath to see if the musical prelude will indeed take place, paving the way for Fury and Joshua to step into the ring at the hallowed Wembley Stadium.
