In an electrifying development for boxing enthusiasts, the much-anticipated bout between Deontay Wilder and Derek Chisora has been officially confirmed. The heavyweight giants are set to headline a Misfits Pro card at the iconic O2 Arena in London on April 4, marking a significant milestone as their combined 100th professional fight.

The confirmation follows a recent social media exchange between the two fighters, where their mutual excitement and respect were palpable. In a video call, Chisora proudly displayed a signed contract, declaring, “Signed,” to which Wilder responded with enthusiasm, “Let’s freaking go!” The exchange continued with Chisora warning, “I hope you’re ready,” and Wilder confidently replying, “If I’m not ready then I’m gonna get ready.” The camaraderie was evident as Wilder added, “I love you, bro, this is the last phone call. Next time I see you it will be at the press conference and then after that we’ll be in the ring, baby.” Chisora reciprocated the sentiment, wishing Wilder good luck.

Deontay Wilder, once a formidable force in the heavyweight division, is renowned for his devastating right hand. His career has been highlighted by an unforgettable trilogy with Tyson Fury. However, recent years have seen Wilder face setbacks, including consecutive losses to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang, followed by shoulder surgery. His comeback in June was marked by a seventh-round stoppage of Tyrrell Herndon, signaling his return to form.

On the other hand, Derek Chisora is a beloved figure in British boxing, celebrated for his aggressive, relentless fighting style and candid interviews. While a potential third bout with Dillian Whyte was once on the horizon, the focus has now shifted to this high-stakes encounter with Wilder.

As the date approaches, the boxing world is abuzz with speculation and anticipation. Who will emerge victorious in this heavyweight slugfest? Fans are eagerly awaiting what promises to be a thrilling contest between two of the sport’s most dynamic and powerful fighters.
