As the anticipation builds for the upcoming Queensberry Promotions’ Magnificent 7 fight card, all eyes are on the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester for the March 28 showdown between Moses Itauma and Jermaine Franklin. This heavyweight clash, set to headline the event and stream live on DAZN, has sparked considerable interest in the boxing community.

Malik Scott, the former coach of Deontay Wilder, has recently shared his insights on the bout, expressing his belief that the 21-year-old southpaw, Moses Itauma, possesses the skills and potential to pose a significant threat to Oleksandr Usyk’s reign. Scott’s endorsement of Itauma has added an extra layer of intrigue to the upcoming fight.

Both fighters enter the ring in impressive form. Itauma, with an unblemished record of 13-0 and 11 KOs, made a statement in his last outing by decisively defeating Dillian Whyte in the first round. Franklin, boasting a record of 24-2 with 15 KOs, is no stranger to going the distance with top-tier opponents, having shared the ring with the likes of Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte. His durability and experience make him a formidable opponent for the young Itauma.

Scott, speaking about the upcoming bout, praised Franklin’s toughness and credibility as a heavyweight contender. He views this fight as a crucial test for Itauma, stating that a victory over Franklin could open doors to greater opportunities in the heavyweight division. Scott’s confidence in Itauma’s abilities is evident, as he believes the young fighter has the potential to trouble any heavyweight in the world, including Usyk.

While acknowledging Itauma’s high boxing IQ and the guidance of his coach, Scott also noted that the young fighter’s chin has yet to be truly tested. However, he expressed his hope that Itauma’s skills and intelligence in the ring would minimize the need for such a test.

The fight card for the evening is stacked with exciting matchups across various weight classes. In addition to the Itauma vs. Franklin headline, fans can look forward to bouts such as Willy Hutchinson vs. Ezra Taylor in the light heavyweight division, Zak Miller vs. Liam Davies in the featherweight division, and several other compelling contests.

As the boxing world eagerly awaits the outcome of Moses Itauma vs. Jermaine Franklin, the insights shared by Malik Scott have undoubtedly added fuel to the fire. With Itauma’s potential to challenge Usyk and Franklin’s determination to push the young fighter to his limits, this heavyweight clash promises to be a night to remember for boxing enthusiasts.
