In a monumental stride for women’s boxing, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) has officially inked a media rights agreement with ESPN, heralding the advent of MVPW, a dedicated women’s boxing league. The groundbreaking deal, spanning through 2028, will see the majority of MVPW events broadcast on ESPN’s linear channels, with additional international broadcast partners to be announced soon.
The inaugural MVPW fight card will showcase the highly anticipated WBC and WBO lightweight world title unification bout between the undefeated Caroline Dubois (12-0-1, 5 KOs) and Terri Harper (16-2-2, 6 KOs). The April 5 event will be broadcast on the ESPN app in the United States, in addition to its airing on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom.
Following closely, the second MVPW card will feature Alycia Baumgardner (17-1, 7 KOs, 1 NC) defending her IBF, WBA, and WBO super featherweight world titles against Bo Mi Re Shin (19-3-3, 10 KOs). The April 17 bout will take place at the prestigious Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, with live coverage on ESPN.
The third MVPW card will be headlined by a rematch between Stephanie Han (12-0, 3 KOs) and Holly Holm (34-3-3, 9 KOs). Their first encounter ended in a technical unanimous decision win for Han after a cut halted the bout in round seven. The rematch, with Han’s WBA lightweight world title on the line, will take place on May 30 at a yet-to-be-determined venue in El Paso, TX, and will be broadcast live on ESPN.
Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions, expressed their enthusiasm for the new era of women’s boxing. “Since our inception, MVP has been committed to creating a global home for women’s boxing, featuring the world’s best fighters. We have invested heavily in female athletes, delivered historic events, and proven that these athletes belong on the biggest stages in the sport. Partnering with ESPN, the worldwide leader in sports, to launch MVPW across its platforms is a historic milestone.”
The deal also includes other high-profile bouts such as unified women’s junior featherweight champion Ellie Scotney (11-0) facing WBA champion Mayelli Flores (13-1-1, 4 KOs) to determine an undisputed champion in a 10-round bout. Additionally, Chantelle Cameron (21-1, 8 KOs) will move up two divisions to face Michaela Kotaskova (11-0-4, 2 KOs) in a 10-round junior middleweight fight for the vacant WBO title.
This landmark deal underscores MVP’s commitment to elevating women’s boxing, following their successful promotion of fights between Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor, which were livestreamed by Netflix in 2024 and 2025, and an all-women’s boxing card at Madison Square Garden.
