In a significant move for the world of boxing, Top Rank, the renowned boxing promotional company, has officially announced a new multi-year media rights partnership with DAZN, the global sports streaming service. This strategic alliance will bring Top Rank’s thrilling fight nights and extensive archive of classic bouts to DAZN’s platform, offering fans unprecedented access to premium boxing content.

The details of the agreement remain undisclosed, but the first Top Rank event on DAZN is expected to be unveiled soon. This new partnership marks a shift for Top Rank, which previously aired its events on ESPN until the contract expired in July last year. Since then, the promotional company has been broadcasting its shows on their FAST channel and collaborating with other promoters for events featuring their fighters, such as the talented Emanuel Navarrete.

Reflecting on the new partnership, Top Rank chairman Bob Arum expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “For six decades, Top Rank’s mission has been clear: to sign the best talent, cultivate them into champions, and deliver the most exciting fights possible. DAZN’s global reach and commitment to boxing make this partnership a natural fit, and I’m confident it will greatly benefit fighters, fans, and the sport’s future.”

Echoing Arum’s sentiments, DAZN Group CEO Shay Segev remarked, “Boxing deserves a global stage, and this groundbreaking partnership with Top Rank brings one of the sport’s most iconic promoters and richest legacies to DAZN – the global home of boxing. With an already impressive lineup of premium fight nights, the addition of Top Rank’s elite events and historic archive further solidifies our position. This partnership is about scale and setting a new standard for how world-class boxing is experienced by fans and fighters alike.”

According to industry insiders, the broadcasting deal will see Top Rank hosting 10-12 events annually on DAZN. This is a slight decrease compared to their previous output on ESPN, but the focus on quality over quantity is evident. Arum has previously discussed the possibility of working with multiple broadcasters, but this has yet to materialize.

Top Rank’s impressive roster of boxers includes reigning world champions such as Emanuel Navarrete, Abdullah Mason, Xander Zayas, Raymond Muratalla, and Bruce Carrington. Additionally, they promote a host of promising contenders and prospects, including Richard Torrez Jr., Emiliano Vargas, Sammy Contreras, and Deric Davis. The promotional company’s rich history also includes legendary names like Muhammad Ali, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Thomas Hearns, Roberto Durán, and George Foreman.

As the boxing world eagerly awaits the first Top Rank event on DAZN, this new partnership promises to deliver an exciting era for the sport, with fans worldwide set to enjoy an unparalleled viewing experience.
