In a highly anticipated return to the ring, Tyson Fury secured a unanimous decision victory against Arslanbek Makhmudov on Saturday night. However, his performance has been labeled as ‘really poor’ by fellow boxer Dave Allen, who criticized Fury for appearing ‘five times slower’ and failing to finish off a fading Makhmudov.

Fury, the former two-time heavyweight champion, showed signs of rust in his first fight since late 2023. Despite the win, which brings his career record to 35-2, many fans and analysts were left underwhelmed by his performance. The 37-year-old had previously announced his retirement after back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk in December 2024, making his comeback all the more scrutinized.

Following the fight, Fury wasted no time in calling out Anthony Joshua, who was ringside. ‘Let’s give the fight fans what they want,’ Fury declared, setting the stage for a potential heavyweight showdown that could be one of the biggest in British boxing history. ‘If AJ doesn’t want it, then let’s get Usyk in the trilogy,’ he added during the post-fight press conference.

The victory over Makhmudov opens up several main-event possibilities for Fury. Despite the criticism, Fury remains a dominant force in the heavyweight division. His ability to captivate the crowd and generate excitement was evident as he addressed the audience, challenging Joshua to step into the ring with him.

Fury’s pre-fight antics and post-fight callouts are nothing new. Known for his charismatic and often controversial personality, Fury has a knack for stirring up excitement and drawing attention to the sport. His latest performance, while not his best, has certainly set the stage for what could be an electrifying matchup with Joshua.

As the boxing world awaits Joshua’s response, one thing is clear: Tyson Fury is far from done, and his next fight could be one for the history books. Whether it’s a showdown with Joshua or a trilogy with Usyk, Fury’s future bouts are sure to draw significant attention and excitement from fans worldwide.
