In a thrilling night of boxing at Belfast’s Waterfront Hall, Paddy Gallagher seized the spotlight as the main event following a late reshuffle of the fight card. The originally scheduled Commonwealth Title bout between Conor Quinn and Jake Dodd was cancelled, and Jamie Graham’s professional debut was also pulled due to his opponent’s medical issues. Gallagher, however, stepped up to the challenge and delivered a performance that harked back to his prime years.

Gallagher faced off against Bahadur Karami, a larger and more durable opponent. Despite the size disadvantage, Gallagher targeted Karami’s body early in the fight, securing a well-earned 39-37 decision victory. His energetic performance set the tone for an exciting evening of boxing.

Donagh Keary also impressed, moving to a 5-1 record with a comprehensive 60-54 decision win over the defensively sound veteran Jake Pollard. Keary, trained by Ryan Burnett, showcased his versatility by mixing up his shots and footwork effectively throughout the six-round bout.

Jack O’Neill overcame a physically imposing opponent in Ricky Starkey. Despite Starkey’s attempts to rough him up, O’Neill utilized his reach advantage to maintain control and range, securing a 60-54 decision win. Lex Weston claimed a dominant 60-53 decision victory over Connor Goulding, battling through a bloodied nose and knocking Goulding down in the fourth round to regain control of the fight.

Matty ‘Bam Bam’ Boreland secured a comfortable 60-54 decision win over Charles Tondo. Boreland’s sharp footwork and head movement limited Tondo’s success, with Tondo largely focusing on defense despite throwing with intent on occasion. Rhys Owens delivered a calm and controlled performance to earn a decision win over an aggressive Mexican opponent, Yahir Alexander Solorio Morales. Owens, a decorated amateur, showcased composure and maturity to progress to 3-0 as a professional.

Cathal Jennings of Newry earned a hard-fought 40-36 decision win over a tough South American opponent, Reno Reyes. Jennings kept a steady, controlled tempo despite Reyes’ efforts to turn the contest into a physical exchange. Oisin Dunlop produced the only stoppage of the night, delivering a powerful performance as he landed at will from the opening round, forcing the referee to intervene thirty seconds into the second round.

Tiana Schroeder opened the evening with a measured victory, using sustained pressure and effective body work to drop her opponent in the second round with a left hook to the midsection. Schroeder, nicknamed ‘Tornado,’ dictated her way to a 60-53 decision win.

The night was filled with exciting bouts and impressive performances, showcasing the depth of talent in Belfast’s boxing scene. Gallagher’s last-minute elevation to the main event proved to be a highlight, reminding fans of his enduring skill and determination.
