In a highly anticipated bantamweight bout, Umar Nurmagomedov showcased his exceptional skills against Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 324. The event took place on January 24th at the iconic T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This thrilling matchup was part of the undercard for the main event featuring Justin Gaethje versus Paddy Pimblett.

Umar Nurmagomedov, the 2015 World Combat Sambo Champion, entered the octagon with an impressive record of 19-1-0, boasting a 47% finishing rate. Ranked as the No.4 bantamweight in the world, Nurmagomedov’s only blemish on his record came from a loss to Merab Dvalishvili in January of the previous year. However, he rebounded with a victory over Mario Bautista in October 2025, proving his resilience and determination.

On the other side of the octagon stood Deiveson Figueiredo, a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and former UFC Flyweight Champion. With an official MMA record of 25-5-1 and a 72% finishing rate, Figueiredo was ranked as the No.9 bantamweight. Despite suffering consecutive losses to Petr Yan and Cory Sandhagen in 2024 and 2025, Figueiredo made a strong comeback by defeating Montel Jackson in October 2025.

The fight card for UFC 324 was packed with exciting matchups. The main card featured Justin Gaethje vs Paddy Pimblett, Sean O’Malley vs Yadong Song, Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs Derrick Lewis, Natalia Silva vs Rose Namajunas, and Jean Silva vs Arnold Allen. The preliminary card included the highly anticipated bout between Umar Nurmagomedov and Deiveson Figueiredo, along with other exciting fights such as Ateba Abega Gautier vs Andrey Pulyaev and Modestas Bukauskas vs Nikita Krylov.

When the octagon door closed, Nurmagomedov and Figueiredo delivered a performance that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Nurmagomedov’s superior grappling and striking skills were on full display as he controlled the pace of the fight. Figueiredo, known for his aggressive style and submission prowess, found it challenging to penetrate Nurmagomedov’s defense.

After three intense rounds, the judges’ scorecards were unanimous in favor of Umar Nurmagomedov, with scores of 30-27 across the board. This victory solidified Nurmagomedov’s position as a top contender in the bantamweight division and left fans eagerly anticipating his next appearance in the octagon.

The UFC 324 event was a night to remember, filled with thrilling fights and unforgettable moments. Nurmagomedov’s victory over Figueiredo was undoubtedly one of the highlights, showcasing the best of mixed martial arts.
