In a bold declaration that has sent shockwaves through the boxing world, British heavyweight veteran Derek Chisora has guaranteed that his upcoming bout with Deontay Wilder this Saturday will be a swift and explosive affair. Chisora, known for his tenacious style and never-say-die attitude, has promised fans that the fight ‘will not see 12 rounds.’

The 42-year-old London native, who will be stepping into the ring at the iconic O2 Arena, has vowed to bring ‘war and pain’ to his American counterpart. Chisora, with a record of 36-13 and 23 KOs, is no stranger to high-stakes battles and has made it clear that he intends to make this fight one to remember.

Chisora’s entrance to a recent news conference at London’s York Hall was nothing short of spectacular, arriving in an army tank alongside politician Nigel Farage. However, the focus remained solely on the upcoming fight, with Chisora insisting that this will be his final professional bout. ‘I am starting so fast that this fight will not see 12 rounds,’ Chisora predicted, his confidence palpable.

Wilder, aged 40 and boasting a record of 44-4-1 with 43 KOs, has responded to Chisora’s declarations with equal measures of confidence and determination. ‘I’m definitely coming,’ Wilder stated, urging Chisora to bring his best. ‘Derek comes to fight, but I’m coming with detonation,’ Wilder added, hinting at the explosive power he plans to unleash in the ring.

Both fighters are set to contest their 50th professional fights, adding a layer of historical significance to the event. For Chisora, the night is poised to be an emotional one, as he has conceded that he will likely shed tears when he arrives at the arena, much like he did before his last fight against Otto Wallin. Wilder, too, has admitted that he may be overcome with emotion, underscoring the gravity of the occasion.

Wilder’s sights are set on more than just victory; he is targeting one last push towards a potential world title fight. Having previously been in talks to fight Oleksandr Usyk late last year, Wilder believes that a win against Chisora could propel him back into the title picture. ‘He’s one of the best in the era. I do need him to accomplish what I need to accomplish,’ Wilder said, his ambition clear.

As the boxing world eagerly anticipates this clash of titans, one thing is certain: the stage is set for an unforgettable night of action at the O2 Arena. With both fighters promising to leave everything in the ring, fans can expect a spectacle that will be talked about for years to come.
