In a thrilling night of heavyweight action, Efe Ajagba made a resounding statement at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, NV, with a fourth-round technical knockout victory over Charles Martin. The bout, which headlined the Zuffa Boxing 03 card, showcased Ajagba’s power and precision, marking his return to the win column after a draw against Martin Bakole in his only fight of 2025.
The opening rounds were a cautious affair, with both fighters feeling each other out. Ajagba and Martin connected on some singular shots, but neither man was able to establish dominance early on. Martin, known for his slick movement, mainly boxed off his back foot in the second round, landing straight punches that momentarily sent Ajagba back.
However, the tide turned dramatically in the third round. Ajagba, with just over a minute remaining, landed a straight right to the head that sent Martin crashing to the canvas. The undercard also delivered its share of excitement. Umar Dzambekov remained undefeated with a second-round knockout victory over Ahmed Elbiali in a 177-lb catchweight contest. Dzambekov’s right uppercut sent Elbiali crashing to the canvas, ending the fight at 0:57 of the second round.
In another undercard bout, Jaybrio Pe Benito continued his ascent in the lightweight division with a third-round knockout win against Abel Mejia. Benito’s counter left hook in the second round sent Mejia down, and a right hand to the face in the third round sealed the deal, with the referee stopping the contest at 0:48.
