In a breathtaking display of resilience and power, Brandon ‘The Heartbreaker’ Figueroa etched his name into the annals of boxing history with a dramatic 12th-round knockout victory over Nick Ball. The electrifying showdown took place at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, UK, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, with Figueroa claiming the WBA World Featherweight title in a fight that will be remembered for its intense action and stunning finale.

Figueroa, hailing from Weslaco, Texas, entered the ring with a record of 26-2 and 19 knockouts. His opponent, Nick Ball, the defending champion from Liverpool, boasted a record of 23-0-1 with 13 knockouts. From the outset, it was clear that this bout would be a battle of wills, with both fighters showcasing their skills and determination.

As the fight progressed, Figueroa’s strategy became evident. He allowed Ball to engage at close quarters, using his superior body work to wear down the champion. Despite Ball’s reach and height advantages, Figueroa’s relentless body shots took a toll, leaving Ball visibly fatigued by the end of the 11th round.

The 12th round began with a sense of urgency. Ball, breathing heavily, came out swinging, but Figueroa was ready. A devastating left hook from Figueroa sent Ball crashing to the canvas face-first. Ball managed to beat the count, but his legs were unsteady. Figueroa seized the moment, unleashing a barrage of punches that left Ball defenseless. A final flurry of blows sent Ball tumbling through the ropes, prompting referee Steve Gray to halt the contest at just 12 seconds into the final round.

Figueroa’s victory was a testament to his strategic prowess and unyielding spirit. Despite being on the road and facing a champion in his home territory, Figueroa dominated the bout with a total of 757 punches thrown, landing 177 power shots, 94 of which were body shots. Ball, though landing 249 blows and 117 jabs, could not match Figueroa’s power and precision.

The judges’ scorecards reflected the competitive nature of the fight. Two judges had Figueroa ahead 106-103, while one had Ball leading 107-102. However, Figueroa’s dramatic finish left no doubt about the outcome, securing his fourth world title in a career that continues to ascend.

In the post-fight interview, Figueroa expressed his gratitude and determination. “I came here to win, and I knew I had to give it my all,” he said. “Nick Ball is a tough fighter, but I was prepared to go the distance and leave everything in the ring.”

This victory marks a significant milestone for Figueroa, who has now cemented his legacy as one of the most formidable fighters in the featherweight division. His ability to perform under pressure and deliver when it matters most has earned him the respect and admiration of boxing fans worldwide.
