In anticipation of their heavyweight bout this Saturday in Manchester, Moses Itauma and Jermaine Franklin stepped onto the scales, revealing a significant weight difference. Itauma, the British sensation, weighed in at 242.1lbs, a notable 16 pounds lighter than his American counterpart, Franklin, who tipped the scales at 258.4lbs. Itauma, with an impressive 13-fight professional career, has yet to go past six rounds. His career-best victory came in August when he stopped Whyte in the opening round in Riyadh. The young Brit has been linked with a future clash with unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, although the Ukrainian has dismissed the possibility. “Three fights [remaining],” Usyk told Inside The Ring. “I don’t want to fight with Itauma, because it’s a young guy. I don’t want to break this guy. He’s a guy like me.”
