In a thrilling night of boxing in Oberhausen, Germany, Agit Kabayel successfully defended his WBC interim heavyweight title against Damian Knyba. The German boxer, who has been on a winning streak since his professional debut in 2011, showed his mettle in a fight that had fans on the edge of their seats.

The Polish challenger, Knyba, started strong, landing a powerful uppercut in the first round that left Kabayel with a cut above his left eye. The second round saw Knyba continuing his aggressive approach, but Kabayel began to close the distance, setting the stage for a dramatic third round.

With a minute left in the third round, Kabayel seized his opportunity. He landed a series of punishing blows that left Knyba hurt and forced the referee to step in. This victory marks Kabayel’s 27th consecutive win, and he made it clear that he’s ready for a shot at the full world title.

“I’ve waited so long for this title shot,” Kabayel declared after the fight. “I’ve beaten three tough opponents on my journey, and now I’m ready for the world title fight.”

The night was filled with other exciting matches as well. Granit Shala and Petar Milas engaged in a back-and-forth battle that ended in a brutal stoppage in the 10th round. Shala was dropped twice, and his team threw in the towel to prevent further damage.

In the lightweight division, Jadier Herrera extended his unbeaten record by stopping Ricardo Nunez in the eighth round. Herrera’s sights are now set on the full WBC title, previously held by Shakur Stevenson, who is challenging Teofimo Lopez for his WBO super lightweight crown.

Roman Fury, half-brother of two-time heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, made a comfortable return to the ring. He dominated his opponent from the first bell and secured a stoppage in the fourth round, although the decision was met with some controversy from the crowd.

Other notable fights included Nelvie Tiafack’s early stoppage over Piotr Cwik and Gleb Bakshi’s fifth career stoppage against Juan Jose Rodriguez Duran. The night was a testament to the thrilling and unpredictable nature of boxing, leaving fans eager for the next big fight.
