In a thrilling display of skill and determination, Raymond Muratalla outshone Andy Cruz in a highly competitive main event on January 24th at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas. The bout, which was the highlight of a Matchroom Boxing event, saw Cruz showcasing his signature elegance, moving gracefully around the ring and delivering precise punches. However, Muratalla’s relentless pressure and powerful body shots ultimately won the day.

After 12 intense rounds, the judges’ scorecards revealed a majority decision in favor of Muratalla, with scores of 116-112, 118-110, and a draw at 114-114. The victory solidified Muratalla’s status as the IBF lightweight champion and set the stage for an ambitious callout.

In the post-fight media huddle, Muratalla wasted no time in expressing his desire for his next challenge. With unwavering confidence, he called out the winner of the upcoming Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson fight. “I would like the winner of Teo and Shakur next week. I’d love the winner of that,” Muratalla declared.

When questioned about the possibility of facing Stevenson at 135lbs should Shakur win and drop back to that weight class, Muratalla was resolute. “We’ll make that happen, too. Whoever wins, whatever weight they wanna fight at, I’m there,” he asserted. His boldness was further evident when he dismissed the idea of traveling to New York City to watch the Lopez vs Stevenson fight, stating, “I’m calling them out now. I don’t need to go out there, I’m telling you right now.”

The upcoming Lopez vs Stevenson fight card is stacked with talent, featuring Keyshawn Davis vs Jamaine Ortiz, Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington vs Carlos Castro for the vacant WBC featherweight title, and Carlos Adames vs Austin “Ammo” Williams for Adames’ WBC middleweight title, among others. However, the spotlight remains on Muratalla and his potential next opponents.

As the boxing world eagerly anticipates the Lopez vs Stevenson showdown, one question looms large: Can Raymond Muratalla continue his winning streak against either of these formidable opponents? His recent performance suggests he is more than ready for the challenge, and his confidence is palpable. Only time will tell if his bold callout will materialize into another triumphant night for the emerging lightweight contender.
