In a night filled with anticipation and excitement, the Coliseo Carlos ‘Teo’ Cruz in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, played host to a captivating super bantamweight bout between Noel Reyes Cepeda and Victor Santillan. The 12-round clash, held on February 21, 2026, was the main event of the evening and vied for the interim WBA world super-bantamweight title.

Noel Reyes Cepeda, boasting a professional record of 19-4-0 with an impressive 79% knockout rate, entered the ring with a wave of support. Despite not being ranked due to a hiatus since 2024, Reyes had a formidable streak of 12 consecutive wins, including victories over Nehomar Cermeno and Norbelto Jimenez. His last defeat came at the hands of Emilio Jose Garcia in 2018, making his recent form a force to be reckoned with.

On the other side of the ring stood Victor Santillan, with a record of 15-2-0 and 6 knockouts to his name. Ranked as the No.83 in the super bantamweight division, Santillan had a mixed year previously, with a loss to Tenshin Nasukawa and a win against Alfree Ramirez. Despite his lower ranking, Santillan’s determination and skill set the stage for an electrifying matchup.

The fight itself was a spectacle of skill, strategy, and sheer willpower. Both fighters showcased their prowess, with Reyes’ aggressive style clashing against Santillan’s tactical approach. The bout kept spectators on the edge of their seats, delivering a display of high-level boxing that lived up to its billing.

In a stunning turn of events, Victor Santillan emerged victorious, defeating Noel Reyes Cepeda via TKO at 1:13 in the third round. This victory not only solidified Santillan’s position in the super bantamweight division but also set the stage for his future endeavors in the world of professional boxing.

The fight, which garnered a three-star rating, was a testament to the spirit of competition and the relentless pursuit of excellence. As the crowd dispersed, the echoes of the night’s events lingered, leaving an indelible mark on the sport and its enthusiasts.
