In a highly anticipated boxing event, Mario Barrios is set to defend his WBC welterweight title against Ryan Garcia on February 21 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The fight, which headlines a major boxing card, will be available live on DAZN Pay-Per-View. During a recent pre-fight press conference, Barrios issued a stern warning to his challenger, promising a decisive victory.

Barrios, accompanied by his team including Ryan Garcia’s former coach Joe Goossen, addressed the media with confidence and determination. He acknowledged Garcia’s claims of being at 100% and expressed his satisfaction, stating, “Everyone knows what I bring every time I step into the ring. They say he’s focused, that we’re going to get a Ryan who’s 100%, and that makes me happy to hear. So when I defeat him on February 21, there will be no excuses.”

The reigning champion also responded to Garcia’s predictions of a bloody and physical fight. Barrios asserted, “It could be. Whether I’m cut, hurt, I get back up and keep fighting. I don’t know if he can say the same, but that’s something we’re going to see come fight night. He said we’re getting a Ryan who’s 100%. That’s exactly what I want.”

Both fighters have significant questions to answer as they approach the bout. Barrios, with a record of 29-2-2 and 18 KOs, retained his title in his last fight through a majority draw against Manny Pacquiao. The scorecards read 115-113 for Barrios and 114-114 on the other two cards. Meanwhile, Garcia, with a record of 24-2 and 20 KOs, is coming off a surprising defeat to Rolly Romero by unanimous decision, with scorecards of 118-109 and 115-112 twice. It was reported that Garcia had sustained a hand injury during training before the Romero fight and underwent surgery soon after the loss.

As the fight night approaches, the boxing world is eager to see if Barrios can secure a clear victory after two consecutive draws. Questions linger about Garcia’s condition and his ability to challenge the champion. All will be revealed on February 21 in what promises to be an electrifying showdown in Las Vegas.
