Jake Paul’s boxing aspirations are on hold indefinitely after the Florida Athletic Commission imposed an indefinite medical suspension following his knockout loss to Anthony Joshua on December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
The suspension comes after Paul sustained a double fracture to his jaw from a devastating right hook delivered by Joshua in the sixth round. The former heavyweight champion dominated the fight, scoring four knockdowns—two in the fifth round and two more in the sixth—before the referee stopped the contest.
Paul, who transitioned from a YouTube career to professional boxing, was taken to the hospital immediately after the fight. Medical staff confirmed fractures in two separate locations on his jaw, necessitating surgical intervention. The extent of the injury has left Paul’s future in boxing uncertain.
