Jake Paul’s boxing career is on hold indefinitely after the Florida Athletic Commission imposed a medical suspension following his knockout loss to Anthony Joshua on December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
Paul sustained a double fracture to his jaw during the fight, the result of a devastating right hook from Joshua in the sixth round. Joshua dominated the bout, landing four knockdowns—two in the fifth round and two in the sixth—before the referee stopped the contest.
Following the fight, Paul drove himself to the hospital, where medical professionals confirmed fractures in two separate areas of his jaw. The severity of the injury necessitated surgical intervention. As of Saturday, December 24, the extent of Paul’s recovery and the duration of his suspension remain uncertain.
