In a highly anticipated clash set to ignite the boxing world, Xander Zayas has boldly declared that he will plunge Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis into uncharted territory when they square off in Brooklyn this June. The undefeated Zayas, boasting a pristine record of 23-0 with 13 knockouts, is gearing up to defend his WBO and WBA super welterweight titles against Ennis, who holds an equally impressive record of 35-0 with 31 knockouts, on June 27 at the iconic Barclays Center. The bout, available on DAZN pay-per-view, has already sparked intense speculation among boxing enthusiasts and bookmakers alike.

Zayas, the 23-year-old prodigy, has not minced words in expressing his intent to dismantle Ennis, promising to expose his opponent to a level of discomfort and challenge he has never encountered. ‘I’m going to take him somewhere he’s never been,’ Zayas asserted, his confidence palpable. ‘He’s going to feel uncomfortable. He’s going to be uncomfortable when it comes to fight night.’

The young champion’s words carry weight, especially considering his recent triumph over Abass Baraou, which solidified his status as a unified champion. Zayas’ strategic prowess and athletic prowess are expected to be on full display as he aims to hand Ennis his first professional defeat. ‘It’s easy to face guys when you’re bigger than them, you’re more athletic than them,’ Zayas remarked. ‘But when you’re facing a guy that is as big as you, as athletic as you, as composed, as smart as you, it’s a whole different story.’

Ennis, on the other hand, has been a force to be reckoned with, demolishing opponents with relative ease. His first-round knockout of Uisma Lima on his 154-pound debut is a testament to his power and skill. However, negotiations for a bout with Vergil Ortiz Jr. fell through, paving the way for this electrifying matchup with Zayas. Despite Ennis’ formidable record, Zayas insists he has identified several weaknesses in his rival’s game. ‘He’s never been uncomfortable,’ Zayas noted. ‘He’s always had it his own way. He’s always had fighters that put up a little bit of a fight and then they quit.’

Zayas’ confidence stems from his belief that he possesses the unique blend of athleticism, size, and intelligence to outmaneuver Ennis. ‘He eats every straight punch. He eats every hook. There’s a lot of things I can take advantage of,’ Zayas explained. ‘I’m as athletic as he is, I’m as tall, I’m as big as he is. He’s just never faced anyone like me before.’

As the countdown to June 27 begins, the boxing world eagerly awaits this titanic clash, where Zayas aims to prove that his youth and unified champion status are no fluke, and Ennis seeks to maintain his unblemished record against a formidable opponent.
