In the ever-evolving landscape of women’s boxing, Lauren Price has emerged as a formidable force, setting her sights on the pinnacle of the sport. The reigning welterweight champion has recently revealed that she has been offered high-stakes bouts against two of the most celebrated names in women’s boxing: Claressa Shields and Katie Taylor. These potential matchups, slated for later this year, promise to be blockbuster events that could redefine the sport.

Price, who has not stepped into the ring since her points victory over Natasha Jonas over a year ago, is eager to return to action and defend her unified titles. Speaking with enthusiasm, she stated, “I want to put on a performance in this next fight and then get out again in the summer whether it be against Mayer, Katie Taylor, Claressa Shields, or Alycia Baumgardner.” The financial incentives for these bouts are substantial, with offers reportedly four to five times higher than a potential undisputed title fight against Mikaela Mayer.

Meanwhile, in the cruiserweight division, Brandon Glanton is poised to make history. The 34-year-old from Atlanta finds himself on the brink of greatness as he prepares to face undefeated world champion Jai Opetaia for the inaugural Zuffa Boxing cruiserweight world championship. Glanton, who perhaps did not anticipate reaching this stage so soon, is relishing the opportunity to etch his name in the annals of boxing history.

“You die in the physical, but this fight will make me immortal,” Glanton declared, underscoring the significance of this bout. His mindset and determination could very well propel him to the top of the cruiserweight division, a testament to his unwavering belief in his abilities.

In other news, the anticipation for the Caroline Dubois vs. Terri Harper bout continues to build. A recent teaser from the Gloves Are Off episode has only heightened the excitement, with Dubois and Harper exchanging heated words. “You haven’t done anything!” Dubois asserted, setting the stage for what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

The boxing world is also abuzz with predictions and warnings. Lawrence Okolie has made bold statements about the future of the WBC title, suggesting that Oleksandr Usyk will vacate it, paving the way for a potential clash with Agit Kabayel. Okolie also hinted at a future showdown with his former gym mate, Daniel Dubois, adding another layer of intrigue to the already captivating boxing landscape.

As the sport continues to evolve, these developments underscore the dynamic and unpredictable nature of boxing. From potential historic matchups to bold predictions and heated rivalries, the stage is set for an unforgettable year in the ring.
